It's Raining Books, Halleluah

Today is the last day to enter the Follower Love Contest. Click on the pic at the bottom of this page.

Valentine's day is for roses and chocolates and candy hearts and kisses. Oh, and apparently also free e-books.
I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when there were 27 romances on the new free list of the day. Today, well, there are so many, I can't even count them all.
Instead, here is my Valentine to you. A truckload of free Romances from Amazon. (That's better than candy hearts anyday)

Click on the pictures to go straight to Amazon to download these free e-books. Remember to check the price if you're not one-clicking on the same day as the original post.
Don't want to peruse the zillions of books here?
My top ten -

1. The Frog Prince by Elle Lothlorien. Not only does it have 42 five star reviews I've been hearing tons of great things on twitter and facebook about this little Romantic Comedy.  If you only download one e-book this Valentine's DayThis is a your One-Click
The Frog Prince (A Romantic Comedy)

2. The Templar's Seduction by Mary Reed McCall. Have you seen this picture? Of course I'm gonna one click this one.

The Templar's Seduction (Templar Knights)

3.  Daughter of the Earth by Brianna J Merrill. I chose this one because it has an eerily similar storyline to one of my own YA series.
Daughter of Earth (Tales of the Guardian)

4.  Mon Couer Mort, an anthology.  For lovers of paranormal who are tired of sparkly vampires or werewolves who walk around with their shirts off.
Mon Coeur Mort

5. Sleeping Beauty by Elle Lothlorian. Yeah, I know, two books by the same author, but this twist on a fairy-tale really caught my eye. She falls in love with her sleep doctor in her dreams. Fun.
Sleeping Beauty (A Romantic Comedy)

6.  Cabin Fever by Steena Holmes. I have to tell you, the excerpt got me. This author (in the 13 lines I read) has a fun voice. Can't wait to see where this one goes.
Cabin Fever

7. Beyond the Far Horizon by Sally Malcolm. I only have one word for you (no, not zombies, look at the cover for goodness sakes) Pirates. Yummm
Beyond the Far Horizon

8. Incubus Hunter by Kenya Wright. This one sounds like Stephanie Plum in One for the Money but paranormal.
Incubus Hunter (An Erotic Paranormal Romance) (Book One of Erotic Elf Series)

9. The Line by Courtney Brandt. This one time at Band Camp... Ha ha, just kidding, but who can resist a band geek YA Romance. Not me apparently.
The Line
10. Cabin Baggage by Nick Earls. Ahhh, love in coach class.

Cabin Baggage: A Short Story

If none of my top ten strike your fancy, try one of these other free e-reads.

Whoa, it must be Valentine's Day

Follower Love Blog Hop last just a few more days. The link is at the bottom of the post.

I popped on to see what kind of free e-books were available today from my crack dealer free e-book email list, and whooo, was I blown away. There are twenty-seven Romances that look pretty darn good, and that's not included all the ones labeled under erotic. Usually there aren't more than about ten.  Must be the celebratory love day coming up inspiring Romance authors to put up lots of free ebooks. That's a perfectly fine Valentine's present for me. I'll take a free e-book and some chocolates any day. Besides the books will last longer than the flowers.

Click on the pictures to go straight to Amazon to download these books. Remember, if you're not clicking the day of the original post make sure to check the prices before you one-click. Then read them to your lover to spice up your V-day fun. Jump straight to the sex scenes. You'll have him eating out of your hand (or other fun places) in no time.
I bet he's never read a trashy romance novel before. You might just get him hooked. And if he doesn't rush right out to sign up for the Harlequin-send-me-five-books-every-month club I bet he won't mind so much about your monthly book bill and that huge stack of to be read Romance novels sitting on your bedside table.  He may even buy you a few.

Here's your V-day present to yourself (or that lucky lover)

My ole friend BoB

The link for Follower Love Bloghop is down at the bottom of the page.

I've downloaded books from lots of different websites.  Long ago, in a galaxy far far away (read: when I moved to Vietnam four years ago) my family bought gift certificates for e-book stores for my birthday and holiday presents. Books on Board, ah my old friend BoB, has been through it's ups and downs. But overall they have quite a few good quality books. But, they weren't big on freebies. Until recently.
Much to my surprise, flashing at the top of the monthly newsletter I get from them was a huge FREE E-BOOKS banner. YeeHaw.
I clicked it.
I got some new books, for FREE. Yay.
Click this insane banner here and it'll take you to the same newsletter I get with a list of their freebies (and links for some cheap reads too.

Here are the books I chose from the freebie list. As always click on the book cover to go directly to the BoB sight. If you're not clicking the day of the original post check the price.
Cover Image of Dangerous Angels with Bonus Materials eBook, by Block, Francesca Lia Cover Image of Life\'s a Beach: Limited Edition eBook, by Cook, Claire Cover Image of 1936... On the Continent eBook, by Fodor, Eugene
Cover Image of The French Maid eBook, by Jeffries, Sabrina Cover Image of A Valentine from Harlequin: Six Degrees of Romance eBook, by Warren, Nancy, Spencer, Catherine, Moore, Margaret Cover Image of The Marvelous Land of Oz eBook, by L. Frank Baum

I did have a problem downloading a couple of the books. Also, if you click on the link to get the Kindle book it takes you straight to Amazon. LOL.
The files are Adobe Epub, so you'll have to download Adobe Editions to read them if you don't have an e-book reader that reads that kind of file. (My Sony PRS-505 reads epubs). Here's the link if you want to download the Adobe reader. http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/

The one thing I most excited about on this new resource is that the books are not self pubbed.  Now you know I'm a self pub fan, but sometimes I want something that I know has been professionally edited and had a book cover done for it. Of course you still have to weed through the to find the gems and get rid of the stinkers, but there's a comfort zone there.
So have fun with this new resource, you know I will.

If you haven't started following my blog yet, I've got a giveaway going on. Click on the pretty Follower Love Blog Hop button and check out the chances to win a free Kindle book from one of ten Romance authors.

Zombie Love is the new Black

My Follower Love Blog Hop is still going on this week until V-day. Link is at the bottom of this post.

Everyone will tell you - don't write to trends. (Well, except maybe Vampires) But please, I beg of you all out there writing Romance, please, write to this one.
Zombies are totally the new black, or the new vampires. (Oh, god, just don't make your zombies sparkle) Most of the books and stories out there are more like the old Romero zombie movies.

You know, zombie apocalypse, run from zombies, get down and dirty with hero or heroine who hasn't been bitten yet (but we all know he will), get cornered by 'em, hero makes a last stand, everyone else escapes, pine for the love you missed out on because now he's a zombie and you have to shoot him in the head.

What we've really been missing is the whole zombies who are in love stories. Yeah, you heard me, one-eyed, missing an arm, dangly man bits, zombie love.
God it could be so much fun.
Don't believe me?  Get a load of this killer song and video from Stephanie Mabey.

I've totally been looking for an excuse to blog that video for ever.
I just want your heart, I want your heart, I want ya.
Today, in free books I found the perfect excuse to share it. Yay! Now it can be stuck in your head for the next millenium too.

Title: Loved you for your Brain (short story)
Author: Damien Foyle
Genre: Zombies!
Length - shorty short
Publisher: Self Pubbed

Loved You for Your Brain (Short Story)Review:
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
I heart Damien's zombies. Apparently they can still think, love and write. The narrator of this little ditty may be slow moving, looking for flesh to prey upon. But he's looking for more than just dinner, he's looking for a girl with brains.
A love letter from a zombie to the girl he's stalking. Brilliant, bloody brilliant.
I loved this story. I mean, come on. The first line is "You were on the run when I saw you for the first time." and it just gets better from there.
He even calls her babe.
Awesome.

My recommendations:
One click this one, read it, then go watch some old style Romero zombie flicks with a whole new perspective. Maybe those slow walking zombies just wanted those girls for their hearts...
I give it four stars.

Hop on over to my Follower Love Blog Hop post for the chance to win your choice of book (or two pack) from one of ten Romance authors. (Unfortunately not a one of 'em writes Zombie Romance.)

Laughs at the Speed of Twitter

The Follower Love link is at the bottom of all of this week's posts.
I love twitter for a variety of reasons. It gives me a way to build my author platform, I get tons of publishing industry news, there are contests galore to win free books, and it gives me the greatest writing procrastination outlet ever. But most of all I like twitter because in 140 characters I can be ROFLing, LMAOing and LOLing. (especially on #mancandymondays)

I strive everyday to write funny. I don't have any formulas, I've never taken any classes, for me, right now, it's all very organic. I love to read funny, so I try to write funny. I'm sure someday when my big not so scary publisher tells me to I'll have to figure out the science of humor, but for now, my only studies are RomComs, Humor books, Laugh out Loud Romance novels (my favorite), and of course twitter.

My chosen professor and textbook in the study of funny for today is a free e book for my Kindle.

Title: Two-Fisted Tweets
Author: James Hutchings
Genre: Humor
Publisher: Self Pubbed

Review:
Two-Fisted TweetsI'm not sure if 30 sentences counts as a book, but they definitely count as a laugh. I found James Hutchings one line stories funny enough, I tweeted a bunch of them as fast as my two fists could type. These aren't crass one line jokes, they are witty and clever and had me literally LOLing. Plus I like the genre-mashing retro cover.
I'll share my favorite line here, then you can download the book for the rest of them.

"Rotting hands reached from the darkness. At last, someone was attracted to her for her brains."

Ah, I told you Zombies are the new black.
Actually it was a three way tie between this snort inducer, the one about chocolate cake, and the one about the Sasquatch.
Enticed? You should be.

Recommendations:
One-click this one right now. Then email the author and ask him to release the next in the series I've titled "Three-fisted Tweets". Which will be three times as long and triple the laughs.
I give this book four stars. It's only missing that fifth because its too dang short.

Follower Love is still going on until Valentine's Day.
